The whirling blaze of blue lights danced across the lake, a warning to any other smugglers who might be dreaming of the profits they could make running moonshine across the waters. Our outpost sits high up on a hill, and we could easily watch from the comfort of our veranda as the story unfold bellow. The second police boat had come to support the first as soon as the smuggler was stopped, and by the time the booze was discovered and the lights began to flash the 2 police boats were already comfortably tied up with the 3rd arriving less than a minute later. "Too bad." said Brian, " A chase would have made for an interesting evening." I had to agree, with training complete there is little left to do but pass the time until my departure date arrives, and I too would have welcomed the excitement. There would be no chance for the smuggler to run this time though, the police had been to fast. Its not that I haven't been busy though, I spent the day hard at work reviewing my notes and training my body for the expedition. Still, it sometimes seems as though time merely crawls and so I have sought to amuse myself with other adventures and read constantly. Through these portals of paper I have ridden under the banner of the great Khan Ogadei, stood with Hengist and Horsa at Aylesford, and experienced power the Wildcard dealt to its Aces while it gave pain with it Jokers. I have also taken up a small part time job, but all in all little has changed. The departure of my expedition continues to creep closer and until then, all I can to is prepare.
